Candidate requirements
Ideal candidates will be bright, have good communication and interpersonal skills, take pride in their work and be confident in their own ability. They will be equally comfortable working within a team or on their own initiative and should work well under pressure and to planned deadlines. As well as these skills, candidates should have experience in at least some of the following areas:
UML
A proven record of design and modelling applications using the UML notation
including use case construction, class finding and sequence diagrams.
Experience with Rational Rose would be a benefit.
Entity modelling
A proven record of producing entity relationship models for applications.
Experience of Erwin would be a benefit.
Visual Basic 6
A proven record of design and development of front office business systems
using full OO techniques in a distributed environment.
SQLServer 7 / 2000
The design of RDBMS in SQL Server. Have the ability to write stored procedures.
MTS / COM+
Practical knowledge of Microsoft's middle tier, transaction server products
MTS and COM+ and how to develop to these using COM objects.
ADO
Practical knowledge of Microsoft ADO and its use in building data access
into COM components in a distributed environment.
ASP
A proven record of building ASP based web sites utilising COM components.
Visual Studio .NET
Any knowledge of Microsoft's .NET initiative would be welcome.
Although a successful candidate would be expected to be actively contributing very quickly using some of the skills listed above, future training in areas such as web development will be provided where necessary.
